Day Sixteen

WEDNESDAY 28TH NOVEMBER

In the morning we got picked up by a convertible Chevy Impala to go off on a brewery/wine tour of the Yarra Valley. Our driver was very knowledgable of the area so he gave us lots of fun facts and history which was great (of coarse I've forgotten most of it).

This was lots of fun. It was nice for scott to sit back and look around rather than drive.

First stop was Punt Road Cider. It was very nice. We bought a case. The wine there wasn't the best.

Next stop was Dominique Portet which was a gorgeous vineyard and cellar door. Beautiful wine. The owner in French. They never water their vines which is apparently the best way to grow wine grapes coz the vines have to struggle and grow their roots deep down in the good (moist) soil.

We wanted to buy some wine from here but we'd already bought so much wine so we just bought a bottle of their yum yum yummy sparkling rose. I really recommend going here. Every wine was really nice!

Dominique Portet.

Next Stop was white rabbit brewery (owned by little creatures) which was super cool. We got a nice little lesson on how they brew all their beers and sat down for a free beer (coz of a misunderstanding at the beginning).

Next stop was lunch at Hargreaves Hill Brewery. Yummy lunch and a paddle of tasting beers (all the beers have a bit too much taste for me and are very heavy but Scott liked them).

The last stop was Coldstream brewery which we had another tasting paddle (similar to the last place - very heavy and strong tasting beers). We bought a case of our fave and called the tour a day.

For dinner we got pizzas at a restaurant across from white rabbit. I can't remember the name. Nice atmosphere. Good drinks but pizza was a bit boring.

That was the end of day 16.
