Our stay at Banjos came with a free Breaky down stairs so taht was the start to our morning. Then we were hoping to hire a boat to drive around the Lake but there was a storn coming and they cant rent them out if there's any chance of there being winds over 20 k's or more. So that was a bit of a let down.
We went and checked out the lake to see if we could jump in again before we left but it wasn't nearly as warm as the day before so we just soaked in the serenity that was.
We decided to head straight to Bermagui (where we would spend our next 2 nights) since there wasn't much else for us to do here.
We'd been driving for 15 minutes or so along The Snow River Way when Scott realised we were low on petrol. We looked up the nearest one on the Sat Nav and it said it was about 20 minutes if we keep going (or we could've gone back) but we could make 20 mins. It turned out to be an old petrol station in Dalgetti with just a working garage there. The guy told us if we keep going there is nothing till Bega - which we would not make. So we had to take a de tour along a dirt road for about 20 k's coz the normal road was under repair. This was a bit of an adventure. Pretty cool drive. We wouldn't want to run out of petrol out there though. Eeeek! We finally got to Berry Dale, filled up and got on our way. We drove though Cooma and then head down Brown Mountain which Scott was very excited about coz it's steep and windy. Unfortunately it was wet and there were a few slow drivers. Oh well, means I didn't die!
Made it to Bermi and had some lunch at the Bermi Pub. Pretty average as you'd expect but it was nice to be in this beautiful familiar place. We watched some cricket then drove down to Grandma's. After settling in she took us to play some table tennis down at the local hall. The oldies are crazy!! Grandma has the reflexes of a teenager! We got over it before the crazy oldies did coz it was super hot. So we went to have a swim down at Baragoot Beach but it was FREEZING!!! I remember now that the water doesn't really warm up until January down there.
Scott tried to have a fish down in the Swamp beneath Grandma's place but was quite unsuccessful.
Baragoot Swamp
The rest of the evening consisted of yummy Grandma food and cryptic crosswords and Cricket! Not bad if you ask me.
Day 18 over and out!
